Hello, I'm Nicole! I'm a product design manager with experience in delivering end-to-end UX and UI design for software products. I currently lead the design team at Bidscale, a federal procurement software company based in Washington, D.C.

 

I love being involved in the whole product lifecycle — from talking to users, to wireframing, to presenting prototypes. Involvement in each step of the process gives me a deep understanding of how a user is interacting with a product and teaches me something new about the user every day.

 

With years of remote work experience, I’ve learned what it means to be a thoughtful communicator and effectively lead a design team. There are both positive and negative impacts that remote work can have on a creative team. I have experience in creating effective remote processes, collaborating across teams, and managing in both in-person and remote settings.

I am team-oriented. I understand the impact that good or bad leadership can have on a team. I have always led with a people-centered approach and a strong set of values — integrity, authenticity, and most importantly, inclusion.

 

Outside of my job, it has always been important for me to be an active participant in the design community. Over the years I have participated in various design programs in the DMV area including the AIGA DC SHINE program, DC Design Week, and Ladies, Wine, & Design DC. These experiences have always left me feeling inspired and energized seeing how designers can have such a profound impact on our communities.
